Just updated my OnePlus3 to #LineageOS 16.0 (#Android Pie 9) without any problem, also updated the modem firmware in the course of doing so. If someone wants to update from 15.1 to 16.0 as well and needs the modem firmware let me know, I have a working version (I also confirmed the files inside are that same as in the stock rom of #OnePlus ).

Lucky you. 😀
We bought a 2nd hand Xiaomi Mi A1, a very nice smartphone. Did not manage to install the Lineage 16.0, but Lineage 15 did work. But still no F-Droid could be installed. A bit annoying, but we keep on trying. Strange is that almost daily there are new versions of the Lineage 16 for that device. (and maybe interesting to know that the device came with an Android One) I do not blame anyone, but of course it sucks.

Why the hell cannot some manufacturer bring a smartphone to the market with a Lineage already installed and working and that for a reasonable price? F** Android, that is an os which is really perverted by Google.

@(((Dirk Weber))) doesn't look very complicated, not sure why TWRP is only booted temporarily, but I guess that is not a problem as well.
Did you read this manual here? https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/tissot/install

@(((Dirk Weber))) also when unpacking a new device always do updates and then install Lineage OS, sometimes it requires firmware updates.

What was the fault in your case?

also when unpacking a new device always do updates and then install Lineage OS, sometimes it requires firmware updates.
That might be - we just unpacked it and started installing Lineage.

15 can be installed, 16 not. In the meanwhile a new TWRP release came out, we managed to install that.

Will have to investigate if a firmware update still is possible, let's hope so.

This would be the first device (including cd recorders, pc, laptop etc) where a firmware would be necessary. Never did so.

Our son did make a firmware update with his laptop, bricked it by that 🙁

@(((Dirk Weber))) firmware update can be done with TWRP too, the zip is a modified stock firmware zip, which just contains the firmware parts.
